Kowat Alrami Grading System

The grading system in KOWAT ALRAMI is a unique and culturally significant way to measure the progress and skill level of a trainee. Unlike the more common belt system used in other martial arts, which ranges from white to black, KOWAT ALRAMI employs symbols that reflect Arab heritage and carry deep meanings. These symbols not only mark the level of expertise but also represent the light and knowledge gained through training in KOWAT ALRAMI.

Grading Program

The Star (1st degree):

The Fist (Sixth Degree):

Further Degrees in “Fist” rank are awarded to symbolize the level of mastery achieved in the art. These ranks are awarded in annual ceremonial events held by the WFKA and local KA Federations where athletes undergo examinations to demonstrate both their practical skills and knowledge to earn a degree or higher ranks of the “Fist” degree.

Badge & Placement

The grades in KOWAT ALRAMI are proudly displayed on a badge worn on the left side of the chest, much like military insignia. This badge not only indicates the trainee’s level but also serves as a reminder of the Arab heritage that KOWAT ALRAMI represents. The badge, much like the grades themselves, is a source of pride, reflecting the rich history and cultural significance of the symbols used.

Significance of the Kowat Alrami Logo

  1. Turban: At the bottom, the logo features a turban, a traditional head covering worn by Arab warriors in battle. It symbolizes protection and the rich heritage of Arab martial traditions.

  2. Circle: The circle in the middle represents an Arabian shield, used by warriors to defend against the strikes of swords, spears, and arrows, signifying protection and resilience.

  3. Arab Swords: Flanking the circle are two Arab swords, iconic weapons that symbolize the strength and valor of the Arab knights, embodying the martial spirit and historical significance of these weapons in warfare.

  4. Fist: At the center of the shield, the fist represents the levels of achievement in Kowat Alrami. It visually integrates all the ranks, showing the progression and skill of the trainee within the discipline.
